Dr. Saravanan Sundaramoorthy

Saravanan Sundaramoorthy (b. 1983) completed his B.A. (2004) and M.A. (2006) degrees in Tamil in Poompuhar College and A.V.C. College respectively. He did his M.Phil. programme (2007) in Linguistics at Tamil University, Thanjavur. In 2012, he obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Linguistics at Annamalai University.

After completing his Ph.D, he worked as Research Fellow in CAS in Linguistics, Annamalai University. After that, he joined the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, Chennai as Post-Doctoral Fellow. Then, he has worked as Assistant Professor (Con.) in the Department of Tamil, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur between 2014 and 2017. After that, he worked as Post-Doctoral Researcher for six months under the project “A04 Teaching Language and Literature: Tamil Manuscript Compendia on Grammar” in the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures, University of Hamburg.

Since 2018, he has been a Researcher at the Pondicherry Centre of the EFEO, working in various projects such as NETamil, Tamilex, Śivadharma, and Kāñcīpuram.
